Written and illustrated over the course of 2021, Joe and I took THE BOG to Kickstarter in October 2022 with a goal of raising $600 dollars. Over the course of the month, we made more than $2400!
It is the first in an anthology series set in this fantastical world.
In the first title from S.K. Madden and Joseph Christy’s anthology series, TALES FROM THE BONEYARD, an imperial mapmaker spies on the inhabitants of a remote, secretive island, hunting for their hidden relics. A priestess returns after ten years spent in the Kostogan capital, only to find that the empire has followed her home. A captain’s guard struggles to trust his priestess and protect his people as the mapmaker draws closer and closer to their sacred secrets.
THE BOG is a fully illustrated 60 page graphic novel about grief, fear, violence, and myth. It is the entry point into the Roman-inspired world of the Kostogan Republic. A character driven fantasy with a sprawling pseudo-historical foundation, TALES FROM THE BONEYARD is perfect for fans of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and Kevin Macdonald's 2011 cult classic The Eagle.
